Thought you folks might like a quick walk. Start off Near Mawnan Church, head down onto the coast path and towards Durgan.

Some great views all the way (photo above is from yesterday, looking up The Helford from Toll Point) and if your feeling peckish or fancy a drink you can continue a bit further past Durgan to the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage.

Distance 4.7 miles.

Rather than describe the whole route here’s a map…

Cornwall Food and Drink Festival….

food festGrab your taste buds and head to the city as the sixth Cornwall Food and Drink Festival commences this Friday 25th September on Lemon Quay, Truro!

It’s the largest event anywhere dedicated to Cornish food and drink and this year it’s even bigger and more action-packed than ever.

Entry to the festival is free and there is no charge for any of the professional demonstrations and activities.

The focus is still firmly on the amazing quality of the foods and drinks of which the county is proud. There can be few other places – if any – in the UK that produce such a comprehensive range of products of such a consistently high standard.

At this year’s festival you will see farmers, artisans and acclaimed chefs, all from Cornwall, demonstrating the dedication, skill and hard work that have created that well deserved reputation.

You can find more details on the festival and a list of events on
Cornwall Food and Drink website.

I will most definitely be tripping down to the Quay on more than one occasion over the three day festival, to not go down would be a crime against the senses, not to mention my ever rumbling tum!

If your around the St Ives area in the next couple of days, pop in and have a look at the Alfred Wallis paintngs in the Summer Season exhibition.

It’s well worth a visit if only to see the odd perspectives and scale he used when creating the paintings….

The exhibition ends on the 27th so not long left!

Hello me ‘ansomes!

Just added to our online store, is ‘You’re not from round here, are you?’
A brilliantly funny booklet produced by recent Falmouth College of Arts graduate Lizzie Frost.

Designed as an editorial piece, it serves as a guide for people visiting or moving to Cornwall for the first time. Listing 9 things an emmet needs to know about Kernow, it serves to prepare them for our wonderful

Cornish eccentricities, covering topics including Cornish independence, slang, climate, transport and seagulls.

It’s an fantastic book well worth a look whether you be an emmet or Cornish through and through!

Woodland Riders Open Day – Gawton from Aaron Bartlett on Vimeo

I posted this on the Yafle blog a while back and although not technically Cornwall (it’s just over the border in Devon, next to the Tamar,) it’s well worth a look. Some super tasty looking downhill tracks for varying standards – ace!

I should mention you need to join the Woodland Rider club to ride the track or get a day pass… but thats super easy, more info here: http://www.woodlandriders.com/ or visit Dartmoor Cycles, Tavistock.
